Where hope exists, so does purpose.

The six pioneers of the Kennedy’s Disease (KD) Golf Scramble were united by purpose. They were driven by their battles with the disease—be it as an affected individual, a family member, or a loved one. They shared frustrations with the glaring deficit in medical knowledge and resources and recognized an urgent need for research funding.

In 2011, these visionaries teed off to tackle this challenge. They saw the golf course as the perfect battlefield to fight for this cause. The 2011 inaugural event was a resounding success, culminating in a $5,000 donation to the Kennedy’s Disease Association (KDA).

Inspired and humbled by this achievement, the volunteer golf scramble committee grew, and sights were set even higher. Following our 2026 successful tournament, thanks to generous donors like you, we were able to donate our highest amount ever to the KDA of $42,000, bringing our total KDA donations to $425,000, which continues to contribute to research and education grants, and funding the oh-so-important Banbury conferences.

Since 2011, sadly we have lost two of our original visionaries, and many others, to this disease. Each year, their legacy is honored through the continuation of this event. There’s more research to be done that is as urgent today as it was in 2011. As we approach our 14th annual tournament, we embrace the enduring responsibility to offer hope to families affected by Kennedy’s Disease.
